Holy smokes… I’m in SPACE!
Session 17 November 2024
I’m stuck on the hilltops, tinkering with the disk, trying to figure out if it can charge faster. But deep down, I know the truth: it’s probably not going to speed up. All I can do now is wait for the sun to give me the power I need.
As nightfall approaches, I decide to fly around. There are new mountains all around me, unfamiliar territory. If I don’t recognize anything, I’ll have to use the teleport function again to get back. I have a sense, though, that I’m somewhere in the Forelorn Hills, about 200 kilometers from Waterdeep.
I think it would take me about 12 hours to reach Waterdeep on foot. But I don’t have that kind of time. I’m completely isolated here, surrounded only by nature. It’s peaceful, but it’s also a bit unnerving. If I press the teleport button again, I have no idea where it will take me.
I hesitate for a moment, then press the button. I focus, trying to manifest Farryn’s sense of direction, the way he always pulls me toward my destination. But the surroundings go black. I can’t see anything—just pure darkness. Panic threatens to set in, but I steady myself, searching for any sign of where I am.
Then, I notice something—a faint light. I focus on it. It’s distant but growing closer. Stars twinkle all around me. Space. I’m in space.
I wonder if I can somehow use the Sextant of Displacement to guide me further, but I know if I step out of the disk, I’ll suffocate. It’s risky, but I start tinkering. It’s all logic—open panels, connect the sextant, try to make it work. The disk is still loading, too, but I can feel it’s not quite ready.
With the energy I have left in the tank, I attempt to fly toward the light. The sun comes into view, and my heart races. Damn. I’m in space. The disk is protesting, shaking under the intensity of the sunlight.
Desperate, I put the disk in autopilot. The controls seem to settle, but I know I can’t just leave it. I focus on using the sextant, trying to push myself closer to the light. It works—I feel the vessel moving, ever so slowly, toward my goal.
I decide to repair the disk while I can. I want to turn it into something more, something great— a vessel I can trust, something that will get me where I need to go.
And then, out of nowhere, I spot something— a tower. Stardock. It’s distant but unmistakable. And in front of it, looming large, is an immense Hallaster. I can feel its presence, almost like a physical force, and I see a purple glow radiating from it. SHIT. What is happening?!
